  • Biography:

Presently, I work as a psychiatrist for St Vincent’s Services in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in the field of Addiction.

I was born in Cap-Haitien, Haiti, and was raised in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, NY. I attended Columbia College of Columbia University where I graduated after completing a pre-medical concentration in Political Science in 1984. I graduated from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn in 1990. After completing an Internal Medicine residency at Kings County Hospital, I went on to pursue a fellowship in Addictive Medicine, followed by a residency in Psychiatry at the same institution.

  • I love engaging in the creative process of writing. To me it is a form of communion with my creator. The exciting thing is not knowing what the final manuscript will look like. I may have an idea in mind, but I let the Lord guide the words from my head to my hands and eventually on the paper. This short story stemmed from an appreciation of the unspoken language of love. I wanted to paint a picture of a special bond between mother and son, using words as my brush. The moment is now captured for all eternity.

I am active in my church at Abounding Grace Ministries located on the Lower East Side of New York City. I have so far written and directed three Plays for the Drama Ministry. Two were performed and another is scheduled for Christmas 2010.
