Lawrence Dworkin, MD

  • Biography:

I have been a Pathologist with Northwest Permanente since 1985. I have been a Board member, Chief, Laboratory Director, and contributor to the development of the electronic medical record. I woke up on the wrong side of the microscope in August 2008 with Stage IV Mantle Cell Lymphoma. After enduring chemotherapy, whole body radiation, and an autologous stem cell transplant, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself still alive and well. The poem wrote itself during some sleepless nights, evidently in an attempt to make some sense of my experience.
