Naag Champa
Photograph taken in Mumbai, in the home where I grew up, with a Nikon F100 camera, a Nikon 105 mm f2.8 macro lens, and Fuji Velvia 50 film.
“Naag Champa”: My mother’s worship flower.
For her morning prayers, my mother would collect a few fresh blossoms from our garden and place them as an offering to Lord Shiva. In 2003, on one such morning while visiting her, I decided to photograph the flower because of its unusual structure.
